The Sharks (16-4 overall, 6-0) collected a hard earned 67- 62 win over the Hurricanes on Friday in Missouri City to stay in sole possession of first place in the 24-5A boys’ basketball standings.
SC, who next hosts Willowridge on Jan. 12 at 1:30 p.m., led 11-10 following the initial eight minutes, while extending the margin to 33-24 at the break and 49-38 after three periods.
In the girls’ contest, the Lady Sharks (13-8 overall, 5-3) suffered a 66-52 defeat to the No. 1 state-ranked Lady Hurricanes on Friday in Pearland.
